Student Life

Choices

As Pathways students you have the same access to Northeastern's activities and facilities as other Northeastern students. You'll find there are many ways to have fun, stay healthy, and even eat! Also, as you'll see below, most of these choices are free for Pathways students.

Curry Student Center

Northeastern is a large beautiful urban campus. And the center of student life on the campus is the Curry Student Center. It functions almost like the "living room" of the University—with programs ranging from academic societies and cultural/social activities to sports and student government. The Curry Center is also home to many dining choices, a large bookstore, game room, meeting rooms, email stations, meeting rooms and a nightclub. As a Pathways student, the use of the Curry Center is free.

Snell Library

Snell Library

If the Curry Student Center is the center of campus life, then Snell library is the heart of Northeastern's academic life. It holds 985,000 volumes and welcomes one million visitors each year. The Library is also part of Northeastern's intellectual life with Peer Tutoring programs, Meet the Author Talks and innovative research tools. In addition to the Snell Library, Northeastern has the African-American Institute Library devoted to African culture; the School of Law library, and the Marine Science Library. Access to all libraries is free for Pathways students.

Having Fun

Northeastern has an abundance of ways to help you enjoy your time here when you're not in the library or classroom. And you never have to leave campus to take advantage of many of these choices. There are numerous athletic options, student organizations and activities you can join and visit for free, many religious and spiritual offerings, and a huge range of amateur and professional arts to choose from, including dance, theatre, and music. There's even a nightclub on campus where students perform.

Athletic Facilities and Programs

And for the athlete there are many sports options—some of which offer intense intercollegiate competition, some of which offer friendly intramural competition, and some of which you can practice on your own or with a friend. Among the athletic options are baseball, basketball, crew, field and track, field hockey, football, ice hockey, soccer, squash, swimming, tennis, and volleyball. And if you just want to get some exercise in one of our many gyms, you can do that too, of course!

As a Pathways student you have use of the many athletic facilities and programs offered at Northeastern. Most of these activities take place at our Cabot Center, Marino Recreation Center, Badger & Rose SquashBusters Center and Mathews Arena.

Further your education. Develop new interests. Form relationships that will impact your life. But most of all, college is about having fun. Involvement is not by chance, it is by choice. Get involved! You can see a list of students organizations and activities at Curry Student Center site.

Religion and Spirituality

The Spiritual Life Center offers programs for people of all faiths and hosts student organizations such as the Hindu Student Council and the Islamic Society. Eating Well

Need to eat while on campus? Students like to eat and occasionally at odd times of the day or night. Fortunately, at Northeastern and in Boston you have many options from which to choose. You have about 15 choices of where to eat on-campus and many more off-campus, morning, noon, and night. The variety of cuisine to choose from is large—from traditional American "fast food" to extravagant culinary adventures from many nations. Some restaurants and convenience stores on-campus and off-campus open as early as 7 AM and stay open past midnight. As a Pathways student you'll also have the option of purchasing one of Northeastern's economical meal plans. Of course, if you're staying in an apartment or living with an American family, you might choose top have some of your meals at home.
